Rosselkhoznadzor and their Chinese counterparts discussed wood exports to China

On February 14, the Rosselkhoznadzor had a telephone conversation with the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC PRC).

The Russian side raised the issue of wood exports to China following the letter received in February 2020 where the Chinese side clarified the letter sent earlier by the GACC PRC regarding phytosanitary requirements to wood. GACC PCR Deputy Director Wang Yiyu explained that during the winter time (October 1 - April 1) Russia could export wood stripped of bark and not subjected to quarantine phytosanitary disinfection to China provided that there would be an accompanying phytosanitary certificate. If need arises, the Chinese party would carry out their own quarantine phytosanitary disinfection of the indicated products. With that, it is necessary to point out that after April 1 the wood exported to China should be disinfected.

The representatives of the Russian authority considered the start of exports of medicinal plants and herbs to China.

Besides, the GACC PCR informed their counterparts of enhanced phytosanitary control of products exported to the Russian Federation.
