The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Green Week 2020 exhibition. The parties discussed current issues of cooperation, including the integration of the Rosselkhoznadzor information resources with the OIE information system used for sending notifications on animal disease outbreaks. Sergey Dankvert emphasized the importance of common approaches in technical solutions.
In addition, the parties planned to begin assessment of the performance of the Russian veterinary service by accredited OIE experts. Sergey Dankvert noted that the Service is open for such work.
Also during the discussion of issue on ensuring a high level of traceability, Monique Eloit noted the importance of implementing a unified system of animal identification, which will not only increase the level of control, but also significantly facilitate gaining access for Russian products to foreign markets.
At the end of the meeting the parties discussed the upcoming mission of the OIE Deputy Director General Jean-Philippe Dop and the OIE Advisor to OIE Director General Romano Marabelli to Russia, scheduled for February this year. During the visit the OIE representatives will conduct technical negotiations with the Rosselkhoznadzor top officials, EEC representatives, as well as attend a number of Rosselkhoznadzor-subordinate laboratories.
Summing up the meeting Sergey Dankvert and Monique Eloit expressed mutual satisfaction with the achieved level of cooperation.
