Rosselkhoznadzor holds talks with Embassy of Republic of Argentina in Russia

The talks were held on October 4 in Moscow on the eve of the meeting between Head of Federal Service Sergey Dankvert and Ambassador of Argentina to the Russian Federation Ricardo Lagorio which will take place on October 9. The parties deliberated the current issues of bilateral cooperation, summed up the results of the work done in last months and set up the tasks to tackle in the nearest time.

Notably, the Rosselkhoznadzor informed their counterparts that currently it was considering enlarging the list of Argentine fish-processing establishments authorized to export to Russia and the EAEU. The request on this matter sent by the National food safety and quality of Argentina (SENASA) is to be examined in shortest time taking into consideration the approval of other EAEU member states.

The same situation has evolved around signing of four veterinary certificates accompanied by which food gelatin, cattle seed and embryos as well as live horses would be exported from Argentina to the EAEU. All documents are under consideration of the Union member states.

In respect of the draft certificate necessary for imports of breeding cattle from Argentina, the Rosselkhoznadzor stated that it had prepared its remarks and sent a respective letter to the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina during the meeting.

The Rosselkhoznadzor also noted that it deemed it appropriate to have a video conference with SENASA to review the questions connected with the Argentine control system for illegal and harmful substances in animal products which were exported to Russia.

At the end of the meeting the parties acknowledged the need to put maximum effort to promptly settle all technical questions and thus give an additional impetus to trade and economic relations between the countries, the results of which are to be announced within the framework of the G20 summit in Buenos Aires on November 30-December 1.
