The 12th International Symposium on Marek's Disease and Avian Herpesviruses was held in Yangzhou (China). The symposium was organized by the Yangzhou University, the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine and QIH Biotech Company Limited with organizational and financial support from the leading European, American and Asian companies in the field of poultry breeding and animal health. The International Symposium is traditionally held every two years in different countries around the world.
The symposium was attended by nearly 200 delegates from Australia, Belgium, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Israel, India, Canada, China, Colombia, Nigeria, Netherlands, USA, Thailand, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Japan and other countries.
Leading Researcher of the Laboratory for Avian Disease Prevention V. Melnikov took part in the seminar on behalf of the subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor FGBI “Federal Center for Animal Health”. The participants of the symposium were provided with a report on the topic "The epizootic situation on Marek's Disease in the European part of the Russian Federation in the last five years". The research results of the FGBI “ARRIAH” specialists were published in the symposium proceedings.
During the symposium modern scientific achievements were reported in the field of epidemiology, immunology, pathogenesis, molecular biology, the development of means for specific prevention of Marek's disease and avian herpesviruses. World-renowned researchers from the world's leading scientific centers presented 43 reports on the main areas of scientific research in the field of avian herpesviruses.
During the breaks between the reports there was a talk with the world's leading scientists in the field of poultry breeding and animal health.
