On May 24, 2018 on the margins of the 86th OIE General Session a meeting of the Rosselkhoznadzor headed by Deputy Head Konstantin Savenkov and representatives of the National Service for Food Safety in Morocco was held.
The parties considered the possibility of harmonizing the veterinary certificate for beef meat exported from Russia to the Kingdom of Morocco.
The Russian side suggested that Moroccan specialists consider the possibility of delivering beef meat taking into account the FMD regionalization of the territory of Russia.
Konstantin Savenkov informed the Moroccan colleagues in detail about the internal program of regionalization for this disease, and also noted that work is currently being actively carried out to prevent and eliminate the virus on the territory of Russia, in connection with which the country's status as a "free zone from foot and mouth disease without vaccination." is expected to be recovered.
The Moroccan side expressed hope for the successful completion of work in the Russian Federation to eliminate contagious animal diseases and to continue cooperation in the field of veterinary surveillance.
The Moroccan specialists also informed about the completion of harmonizing the draft veterinary certificate for milk derived from cattle and small ruminants exported from the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Morocco and dairy products thereof, which was previously sent by the Russian side with an official letter. Comments on this issue will be forwarded to the Rosselkhoznadzor in the shortest possible time.
At the end of the meeting the parties thanked each other for productive negotiations and agreed to continue mutual cooperation on the issues of access of livestock products to the markets of the two countries.
