24th meeting of the expert group of the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization devoted to phytosanitary measures for potatoes
took place at the end of February in Paris (France).
The Russian Federation was represented by specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor
subordinate FGBI “VNIIKR”.
The meeting was attended by experts and observers from France, Great
Britain, Poland, Netherlands, Turkey, Italy, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
As part of the meeting, the supervisors presented the new version of the
revised standard PM 3/21 (2) "Quarantine of potatoes after import"
and draft standard "Management of risks associated with soil, potato tubers and potato waste."
Questions related to the National control system Candidatus Liberibacter
solanacearum concerning European haplotypes were discussed.
The standards under development (new PM 9) were considered. The standard
"National phytosanitary control system Globodera pallida and G.
Rostochiensis" was adopted taking into account the proposals of Russian

assess potato resistance to Synchytrium endobioticum. The delegates proposed to
compare the resistance of varieties performed in different laboratories of the
participating countries within the framework of the CORNET project

The regular participation of Russian experts in the meetings of the
European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization allows the timely
submission of proposals during the development of new and revision of existing
standards for phytosanitary measures, provides an opportunity for studying and
sharing experiences with national plant protection organizations, obtaining
up-to-date information on the detection and spread of quarantine and other highly
dangerous organisms on the continent.
