Visit of Specialists of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of People’s Republic of China to Saint-Petersburg

On November 3, 2017 the representatives of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) visited Saint-Petersburg within the framework of the visit to the Russian Federation aimed at phytosanitary risk analysis during beetroot pulp import.

In the Northern capital the Chinese colleagues familiarized themselves with the activities of the checkpoint of the Bronka Marine Terminal and the working places of the Rosselkhoznadzor Territorial Administration inspectors responsible for consignment inspection and paperwork. Acting Deputy Head of the Territorial Administration Oleg Emtsev informed the foreign colleagues about activities and competences of the Territorial Administration. The guests were given a tour around the port area involving the employees of the marine terminal.

In the course of the visit the foreign specialists went to the FGBI “Leningrad Interoblast Veterinary Laboratory” where a meeting took place with the participation of Acting Head of the Territorial Administration Sergey Karmazin and Director of the FGBI “Leningrad Interoblast Veterinary Laboratory” Nina Brovkina. In the course of the meeting the PRC experts were informed about beetroot pulp testing, quality and safety assessment methods. The specialists of the Leningrad Interoblast Veterinary Laboratory made the delegates familiar with the equipment and demonstrated the sample reception and testing procedure. The Laboratory for Infectious Disease Molecular Diagnostics and Molecular-Genetic Testing was of the greatest interest for the guests.

Closing the visit the representatives of the AQSIQ thanked the specialists of the Territorial Administration and the Laboratory for the information provided and expressed their hope for the long-term cooperation.
