A meeting of the Rosselkhoznadzor and FGBI “VGNKI” representatives
with delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management,
Republic of Serbia, was held at the FGBI “VGNKI” on September 7, 2017.
The Russian delegation was headed by Alexander A. Komarov,
Deputy Head of the FGBI “VGNKI”, Head of Testing Centre.
The Serbian party was represented by Senior Research
Officers of the Institute of Meat Hygiene and Technology, Scientific Veterinary
Institute (Novi-Sad) and Veterinary Specialized Institute (Kraljevo).
The goal of the visit was a discussion of laboratory control
methods namely peculiarities of control of food products, raw food materials,
feed and feed additives in both countries.
During the meeting
screening and confirmation methods used by the FGBI “VGNKI” enabling accurate
detection of toxic elements, drugs,
pesticides, radionuclides, enzymes, preservatives, colorants and other
xenobiotics in feed, feed additives and food products were discussed. Much
attention was paid to methods for testing products for GMO, for ruminant DNA
and some other non-formula components.
The Serbian experts noted technical capacity of the Centre
and high qualifications of its research officers. The Serbian colleagues were
positively impressed with by number of tests carried out in the FGBI “VGNKI” and
methods for official control developed by its staff-members.

scientific cooperation in the field of food safety and monitoring of products
